The path of least resistance
Canada's men's alpine team test their aerodynamics at the Audi Wind Tunnel.
Audi was proud to host three of Canada's alpine skiing stars at their cutting-edge wind tunnel facility in Ingolstadt, Germany this fall, Erik Guay, Robbie Dixon and Ben Thomsen use the opportunity to test the aerodynamic qualities of their equipment and various racing positions.
It's gone really well, said Guay, the reigning world downhill champion. This tunnel has great drag co-efficient data so you can see ho fast you are very quickly. It's a good chance to try new equipment and work on positions.
The brand with Four Rings uses the Audi Wind Tunnel Centre to help reduce wind resistance in their cars, which leads to better fuel economy. This was the first time the Canadian Alpine Ski Team racers had an opportunity to use the facility since Audi Canada signed a long term sponsorship deal with Alpine Canada this Summer.
The Calgary local dealerships, Glenmore Audi and Royal Oak Audi also signed on with Alpine Canada and the Lake Louise Winterstart World Cup events in November as sponsor of the FIS Bib Draw and the Apres Ski.
We're thrilled to be a part of the action on the hill this year and wish all of the athletes good luck.
